This October, New York City’s vibrant Times Square will once again transform into a hub of cinematic artistry and cultural unity as the 11th Annual ICP Entertainment Film Festival makes its grand return. Running from October 24–26, 2025, the festival celebrates independent filmmakers from around the globe, shining a light not only on powerful storytelling but also on humanitarian causes that resonate far beyond the screen.

Founded in 2014 by Richard Oliver Jr., CEO of ICP Entertainment, the festival was created to provide a platform for independent filmmakers to showcase their work in a glamorous yet supportive environment. Eleven years later, it has grown into a premier three-day event, attracting submissions from the U.S. and abroad, while also standing out for its commitment to social impact.

This year’s festival carries a deeply humanitarian mission: a portion of proceeds will be donated to charities supporting Haiti, Africa’s Congo, Sudan, and Gaza. That throughline is echoed on the red carpet: fashion themes of Indian, Haitian, African, and Palestinian style add a culture-forward spotlight—particularly on the latter three causes that too often go underreported in mainstream media.

The celebration begins on October 24 with the Red Carpet Opening and Dinner Gala at Saar Indian Bistro (241 West 51st Street, New York, NY). Guests will walk the red carpet, enjoy media coverage, and dine on a three-course dinner prepared by Michelin-lauded chef Hemant Mathur. A similar gala will close the festival on October 26, rounding out the weekend in style.

The heart of the festival takes place on October 25 at The Producer’s Club Theater (358 W 44th St, New York, NY), where the Award Screening Night will showcase 11 award-winning films across multiple categories. Running from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the screenings will be followed by an award ceremony honoring the winning filmmakers. VIPs, sponsors, and celebrities will also receive gift bags as part of the night’s celebration.

Because music and film are intertwined here, audiences will find plenty to love: Best Music Video winner “Until the Last Minute” (Ilya Noyabrev, Ukraine) and a special appearance by Oleksandra Hrabova, an internationally acclaimed lyric soprano whose performances have captivated audiences worldwide.

Among the films generating the most excitement is “Out of Order” by Guy Jacobson (USA), named Best Comedy (title to be confirmed with production). With sharp writing and spirited performances, Out of Order exemplifies the kind of smart, entertaining storytelling that keeps audiences laughing while reflecting on everyday absurdities. Cast highlights include Brooke Shields (“Daniella”), Luis Guzmán (“Gustav”), Sandra Bernhard (“Judge Stevenson”), Brandon Routh (“John Slater”), Sam Huntington (“Paul”), and Krysta Rodriguez (“Sue”).

Equally impactful is “Maria” by Abdelhakim Majed Abudaqen (Gaza), winner of Best Documentary. The film offers a poignant and unflinching look into lived experiences in Gaza, giving voice to those whose stories too often remain unheard. In honoring Maria, the festival underscores its commitment to uplifting narratives that bridge cultures and promote empathy through film.

Other standout winners include “I Am Duck” (USA, Best Animation), “The Axe Forgets” (Ireland, Best Horror), “Kay Pacha Initiative: The Amazon Phase 3” (USA, Best Climate Change), and “AI’s Silent Omissions” (Japan, Best Humanity). Collectively, the lineup showcases the incredible range of creativity thriving in the independent film community.
