He doesn’t make music for the sake of it, he makes music to last for generations and generations to come – music that will reign supreme even when he will not be alive to witness it happen, that will be his unforgettable legacy that he will pass on to the world to remember him and be glad that he existed. Superdestroyer is a solo musical label/empire that is made up of lead members and the main composer Richard Brummond who is an industrial titan when it comes to audio engineering and music production. He represents the city of Sacramento, California, and works as an in-house engineer in multiple world-class recording studios around the globe. In the making of the four-piece EP, Richard collaborated with Norwegian musician and producer Andre Myhren and renowned legendary mastering engineer Maor Appelbaum who put in the finishing touches on the EP. “Breathe You” is the first single off of this EP and it is brimming with exuberant quality that will have you on the edge of your seat trying to take in all the affluence on display and the breathtaking extravagance that this track offers.
There is an audacious beating of the yester-year dragged into the modern age and it is an outright joy to hear. The stunning belligerent industrial melody is overflowing with fast-paced, toe-tapping and wonderfully authentic anthems in between its rhythm and harmony. He really set the track on fire with the blend of electric guitar, the syncopated and thunderous electronic percussive beats integrated with pure perfection with the rugged bass lines and the aggressive vocals echoing visceral 90s industrial sounds and grunge aesthetics that are even made the more hypnotic with the catchy ultra-harmonized chorus sections. The bold, textured sound which has taken a lead from a broad selection of styles wields a sharp, passionate sound that hits hard and drugs you under instantaneously. This will win over fans and critics alike with that nostalgic 1990s feel it brings back to a listener’s stereo.
This single (as is the whole of the EP) is available on all the major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Google Music, and Tidal, alternatively, you can get to buy the whole of the EP by purchasing it at Superdestroyer’s Bandcamp page; superdestroyer-fixture.bandcamp.com. I can go on and on but I’ll stop for now and give you the chance to experience industrial eminence at its finest!
