I love what they did with that guitar intro; it’s so gratifying and befitting and lays the perfect foundation for other melodies to flourish. “You Ruined Everything” is genre-bending: the electric guitars give it the pop color, the deep beats perfected with the firm bass and atmospheric drums highlight its hip-hop structure, and the Wurlitzer piano induces the track with that sparkling electric current and aids in the truck’s pickup.
