Sqwerv is excited to announce the release of their upcoming EP, “Hors D’oeuvres Part 1,” a 3-track collection that spans psychedelic and instrumental genres, transporting audiences into the realms of their own imagination even without the lyrics. This EP will officially drop on April 5th, the same day as the EP release party that will take place in Sqwerv’s hometown of Denver, Colorado, at the Venue Globe Hall.
“Hors D’oeuvres Part 1” is a captivating tour de force that highlights the band’s virtuosity and the relentless passion that drives them. I’ve had the pleasure of listening to the music, and this is how I feel about it:
“Miami” is the opener. Listening to this tune paints a vivid picture of you stepping into this beautiful and scenic city with the world at your feet. The enchantingly blended melodies conjure this bright image of the city’s unique blend of sun, sand, culture, and excitement. The gently struck drums, dreamy guitar licks, and well-realized percussion are a perfect reflection of the eclectic spirit of Miami. The rhythmic pattern is pronounced, and the swirling melodies create an atmosphere of enchantment and wonder. I absolutely loved and felt the jam.
“Honolulu Blue” feels like cruising on a luxurious boat in this expansive ocean or sea, looking into the bright future in the form of a crystal clear sky and direct sunlight casting and illuminating light into the sea as much as your eyes. The haunting melodies and swirling rhythms paint this vivid oceanic landscape that is captivating and memorable.
The last tune “Jada” is chilled with some laid-back instrumentals perfect for relaxing and meditating. The music transports you to a place where your mind is eased and your soul is soothed. It is a calming concoction and the perfect accompaniment to those late-night introspection walks.
Sqwerv truly excels with this 3-track EP that will officially debut on April 5th on all streaming platforms. For those eager to experience Sqwerv’s live performance energy, watch them perform “Little Pieces” at the renowned Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado here.
