Making it rain with exceptional lyricism, his intricate flows, and prowess which are unbridled from the streets of Melbourne to the twilight of the suburban; this is the lyrically gifted singer-songwriter and recording artist Farron Gordon. By inviting fellow artist Dev Gajan, they went ahead and delivered a 10-track album that is overflowing with the lyrical onslaught. This is music for the brave and every song on this album slaps and bangs with intensity taking a listener to the realm of imagination with the extraordinary, brilliant performances, inspired songwriting and a great chunk of flair thrown in for good measure. Farron Gordon and Dev Gajan have rustled up a tremendous classic Hip hop rockster that is indescribably steeped in both an undeniable sense of cool and a resounding amount of fashionable style. Believe me when I say that this album will ring several years from now as it has been made to withstand even the generational change and has a futuristic amount of flair that will bang 10 years from now like it were new. To understand the scale of the production ingenuity that was put in place for such an artistic piece that is melodically transcending, you’d have to make a sacrifice for the gods and pray for the wisdom to understand sound engineering. Am kidding! but this album is one of the best sounds to happen to the Year 2022 and I hope that it will influence a listener the same way it did influence me.
With its solid arrangement and excellent diversity in instrumentation as will be experienced in tracks such as “Bad News’, “Shocker” and “Pressure”, this album is downright engaging and spectacularly sophisticated, hip-hop soaked foray that lovers of the genre will without a doubt appreciate. There was no holds barred and they went in fully with exceptional performances, integrating soaring vocal performances to the blistering rap hooks all under the shimmering limelight of stunningly innovated instruments such as the fierce guitars, the swinging piano melodies, and the monumental raspiness of the brass to the highly expressive nature of bass and rolling drums that capture that definitive hip-hop sound so marvelously with every blended element working in tandem with one another to help fashion a charmingly detailed wall of sound that’s filled with atmospheric timbres and exuberance of diverse tonal color. And as with any cultural hip-hop piece, the lyrics to all the tracks have a cultural theme and education to them that audiences can straightforwardly connect with. Hip hop genre is invariably grounded in a stark sense of reality and there’s a realness to the lyrics imbued into the tracks that reflect the genre exceptionally well indeed.
This is the real deal and even hip hop connoisseurs will unquestionably dig what “Rockstars In The Making” has to offer. The impassioned and intricate vocal delivery on display will give a listener a deep insight into the revealing and evocative wordplay that Gordon fuses in his technical delivery that is screaming with an out-of-this-world ability that is a gem and sits at the touchstone of unadulterated brilliance. The mental imagery some of these tracks conjure up is very dominant and will make a listener to be deliberately invested as they literally picture each scenario as Gordon flows and ebbs across the brooding instrumentation that has integrated a melodious, rhythmic and harmonic soundscape made dominant with the deep-phased bass, the pounding 808’s and the resounding drums. The psychedelic, out-of-this-world authentic aura is designed with an infusion of conceptual, ambient elements. This immensely descriptive artistic piece is the mark of consummate Maestro and while all the tracks were astoundingly favorite material, I found myself going back on several occasions to the bold harmonies present in tracks; “Bad News”, “Shocker” and “Pressure”. “Rockstars In The Making” is available on all major streaming platforms and I’d hate for you to miss out on such a stunningly innovative lyrical dexterity on display on this musically gifted expedition. How about you jump on that wave and feel the energy!
